This is completely optional and just for fun. If thinking about this makes the exchange more stressful for you, you can completely ignore it!

Below the cut are a list of themes, fanwork types, etc., in the style of the Agent Carter vintage world. We, as a community, can "win" a challenge by having at least that many fanworks that meet the criteria in the collection when it goes live on June 8th. For example, if the collection includes at least 2 vids on June 8, then we can mark off the Silver Screen challenge!

This is exchange-wide, not individual, and there are no prizes (though I'll see if I can come up with something, a blue ribbon if nothing else :D).

One fanwork can fulfill multiple challenges if it fits all of them, e.g. a femslash vid including Peggy doing spy stuff would fit Silver Screen, Ladies Night, and Peggy’s Spy Kit (and possibly more).

Inspiration was taken from the Star Wars themed challenges in the May the 4th exchange and the bingo cards in Trick or Treat. (I think looking at the bingo card makes the general idea easier to understand.)

It’s not that you HAVE to include any of these things (let alone try to cram it all into the same fic or art or vid - PLEASE NO), and it’s not that you have to write extra fics/make extra art/etc., above and beyond your assignment, unless you want to. But if you’re looking for inspiration and you’re thinking “well, if I included an airplane in my story, then we’d get to check off that challenge on the list!” or “Hmm, there are 7 F/F stories in the archive already, so if I write one more, we’ll have enough to win the Ladies Night challenge!” … that’s what this is for. Just fun and additional inspiration, if needed. :)

As we go along, I'll mark off challenges as they are "won". At the end, when works are revealed, I may ask for some help figuring out some of the less obvious ones (i.e. all I have to do is look at the tags to see how many F/F stories we have, but figuring out how many include daring rescues or are set in other countries is likely to be harder).

Remember, ALL OF THIS IS OPTIONAL. If you're thinking it looks too complicated to be fun, don't worry, all you need to focus on is your assignment!

Challenges and Games (draft post)

Okay, this is a preliminary post with a list of (COMPLETELY OPTIONAL) challenges based loosely on the themed challenges in the Star Wars May the 4th exchange, but with a very Agent Carter twist! Thanks to kore for helping me brainstorm these. :)

Feedback is very welcome. Is this too confusing? Too much? I decided to drop one part of what kore and I talked about, which was allowing participants to ask for prompts from a list of Peggy's spy gadgets and Howard's inventions - I started working on lists of those and was eventually like "... this is too much. XD" Too much for me as the mod, and possibly just too much additional complication to the exchange itself.

Actually, in general, when you look under the cut, do you think there are too many options? There is A LOT, and if we had to drop a few things out, it might make the whole list more manageable.

Remember, ALL OF THIS IS OPTIONAL. If you're thinking any of this looks too complicated to be fun, don't worry, all you really need to focus on is your assignment! But I'm also open to ideas for streamlining and simplifying if this looks too complicated to be fun for anyone.

And there will also be discussion posts, posts to offer plot bunnies/prompts (like last year), and that kind of thing once we get underway.

Help me think of some challenges!

One thing I've noticed more exchanges doing lately is having challenges and other games during the creation period. I'm going to try to do some things along those lines this year. These are not at all mandatory; you don't have to participate. They're just to add some extra fun and help make people more enthusiastic.

Last year I had a prompt submission post and I'll do that again this year (right after signups close, rather than much closer to deadline as it was last year - because I didn't think of it 'til May). What else might we do that'd be fun? Here are some other exchanges that have extra side challenges running during the main exchange, so you can see what they've done:

We are a very small exchange compared to these, so something like the Trick or Treat bingo card probably wouldn't work. To be honest I have very few ideas for what we could do, which is why I'm soliciting input! I do really love the idea of doing some kind of treat challenge - seeing how many treats we can get in the archive this year.

What else can you think of?
