2018 SSR Confidential
*dusts off comm*
Hi, and welcome to the 2018 round of SSR Confidential! I haven't created this year's collection and got everything set up yet, but here's the proposed schedule and rule changes for 2018.
2018 Schedule:
• March 12-18: Nominations.
• March 20-30: Signups.
• March 31 (ish): Assignments go out.
• May 1: No-fault dropout deadline.
• June 1: Fanworks due.
• June 8: Archive goes live.
• June 15: Reveals.
Rule changes:
1. This year, instead of grouping everything in one request and one offer, each request and offer will be made separately. For example, if you request Peggy Carter, Relationship: Peggy & Angie, and Relationship: Peggy & Rose, each of these would be a separate request. This way, you don't have to request and offer the same types of fanworks for every character or pairing you choose (e.g. you could only offer art for one character, or request art for one and vids for another). This will also make it easier to separate out your prompts and DNWs for different pairings.
2. Period-typical slurs and period *isms are not banned in this exchange, but anything beyond canon levels is opt-in rather than opt-out. If you're okay with fanworks exploring period-typical attitudes and language (e.g. if you request a slash pairing and would be okay with period homophobia or internalized homophobia in your story), then say so. If it's a hard DNW for you, mention that.* If your recipient doesn't say anything about it, assume they'd rather not have it.
*Given the nature of canon I didn't want to make it ALL opt-in and have creators end up agonizing over a single line about Peggy's phone company coworkers giving her a hard time or something like that. In general, if it's in the show, you're going to have to explicitly DNW it. Anything that's not in the show is opt-in. Does that make sense?
Questions? Thoughts? Looking forward to Round 3? :)

I'll be traveling during most of the nominations period and part of the signups period, so hoping you'll post reminders so my scattered self doesn't miss out . . .
Thanks for doing this again.
