I've just started reading through the collection (yes, it's been A Week) but everything is GREAT so far! The quality in this exchange is just so high, you guys. Thank you again for making it possible. ♥ ♥ ♥

Okay, now that SSR Confidential #4 has wrapped, any thoughts on rule changes for next year's exchange? This year we lowered the word count minimum to 500 words - did that seem to work well, or should we reconsider this for future exchanges? (As a data point, we had a slightly lower rate of dropouts this year than normal, especially early dropouts; I'm not sure if it's related since every year is different, but it's definitely plausible that the lower minimum made it possible for more people to complete their assignments!)

What about this year's schedule, with a slightly longer creating period - did that work? Were the reminder posts helpful? Should we have more formal progress check-ins during the creating period, or is everyone happy the way things are? What about the signup process - any issues there?

Any suggestions for rule or schedule changes for next year?

I sadly don't have much to contribute other than the hypothetical "....if I hadn't been so goddamn sick -- " but I really personally like the 500 word minimum and the longer writing period. I find the reminder posts helpful, too, because I have such a bad memory!

... and yeah, the Peggy/Dottie was really outstanding this year! It's interesting to me how each year has a slightly different flavor as far as which ships and fanwork types are dominant.

A fun exchange, as always. I was fine with the 500 words min and the longer writing time. Though I am verbose enough that I almost always exceed word counts by miles and eager enough that I'm done way before deadlines, it's always good to have rules/deadlines that encourage more people to participate :)

Thank you! Yeah, a lot of people wrote more than the minimum - but I do think the 500 words is more approachable and feels like less of a commitment, and no one's saying they hate it, so I think it'll stay. :D
