All assignments have been sent! You should receive your assignment email shortly. You can also find it under Assignments on your AO3 page.

If you didn't get your assignment or have a problem with it, please contact me immediately! I'm screening comments to this post to make that easier. (I will unscreen all non-assignment-related comments unless you request otherwise.) You can also send me a PM.

Otherwise, I hope you enjoy your assignment and I hope you're excited about it! I will put up some posts in the next few days to help generate ideas and enthusiasm, and to help people find beta readers and brainstorming partners.

There are no initial pinch hits, but any pinch hits that come up will be posted here and at [tumblr.com profile] ssrconfidential on Tumblr, so follow this comm for those. You can also start working on treats immediately, whether or not you're signed up. If you'd like to find someone to treat, you can look at all the requests here or also check the letters post.

Thank you, and I hope you'll have fun with SSR Confidential 2019!

Signups are open 'til March 30!

2019 AO3 collection | Signup page | Letters post | Tag list

You can request 2-8 characters or pairings, and offer 2-10. "Any" is an option for any of your requests/offers, meaning any character or pairing in the tagset (just tick the "any" box).

Please let me know ASAP in a comment or PM if you notice any issues with the signup form, or run into any problems or errors in submitting your signup.

And please spread the word; the more people who hear about this, the more participants we'll have, and the more brand-new fic, art, and vids for us all to enjoy.

Greetings to new people, and welcome back to the returning ones! I hope you'll have fun.

Tagset nominations for SSR Confidential 2019 are open from now 'til the 18th! Nominate them here!

Please see instructions below.

• We are using last year's tagset and simply adding to it. (You'll notice the name has been changed to "SSR Confidential 2018-19".) This is experimental and if it turns out to be a headache or we run into problems, we'll go back to doing it the old way next year.

Here is the list of last year's tags, which are already in the tagset and do not need to be added. Once people start adding new tags, I'll keep a new running, updated list.

• It turns out that I cannot raise the number of allowed nominations once tags have been submitted, so it remains at 6. If you used all your nomination slots last year, PM me or comment with your tags (anonymous is fine) and I'll put them in for you.

• Similarly, if you have more than six, PM or comment with the extra tags you want added, and I'll add them.

• It says "character" in the form, but you'll be adding both character and relationship tags there. Characters can be put in as their canonical tag from the drop-downs. Relationships should begin with "Relationship:", e.g. "Relationship: Peggy Carter & Dottie Underwood." (This is an AO3 workaround to allow us to match on either character or relationship in the same text field.) Please use characters' first and last names (if known).

• "&" = a gen relationship and "/" = a romantic one. You can mix both in one relationship tag, e.g. "Ana Jarvis/Edwin Jarvis & Peggy Carter".

• All relationships must include at least one Agent Carter character, but crossovers and relationships with original characters are allowed. Character nominations are limited to characters who appear in the Agent Carter series only. New this year, if you want to nominate original characters as individual characters, that's okay with me as long as they're compatible with the 1940s Agent Carter world, e.g. Original SSR Agent.

Let me know if you have any questions or issues!

Here we are, back for another round! Can you believe we're in our 4th year already?

I'm thinking we'll have a similar schedule to last year. This was last year's schedule:

• March 12-18: Nominations.
• March 20-30: Signups.
• April 1-ish: Assignments go out.
• June 1: Fanworks due.
• June 8: Archive goes live.
• June 15: Reveals.

Possible changes this year:

* Should we skip the "nominations" phase and simply use the tag set from last year? It seems like there's not much need to keep doing it new every year, since the characters and relationships are unlikely to change much. I can re-open nominations on the old tagset so people can add new tags for a short period; I can also add tags manually if anyone wants something that's not in there (or already used your nomination slots). Here is the list of all of last year's tags.

* I never followed through on the "games" last year. I'm really sorry about that. Lesson learned: I'm really not good at keeping up with things like that. I appreciate the work everyone put into it and I apologize for dropping the ball on it. That's totally on me.

* That being said, things that did work from previous years include prompt-submission posts and discussion posts, so I will plan to do more of those!

* I'm thinking about dropping the number of required requests/offers to one, to make it easier for OTP people to participate. This would make matching potentially more difficult. So far, in a small exchange like this one, I really haven't had too much trouble matching people, and I don't know how many people would actually only have one option in their signup even if the possibility was available. Last year there were a couple of participants who had trouble with having to offer multiple characters/ships, or opted not to participate due to this. (I should mention that gen relationships/friendships are also an option; you can request and offer individual characters, ships, or friendships.) Thoughts on this?

* Should we keep the minimum word count at 1000, or drop it to 500 this year? I've participated in several exchanges lately with a lower minimum word count (e.g. Trick or Treat and Chocolate Box) and it seems to help encourage more people to participate if the barrier to entry is lower, while at the same time the stories don't seem to be significantly shorter even if the requirement is less. I am on the fence about this, and would love to hear what you think about it.

* Are there any other rule changes anyone would like to see this year?

I hope you're excited! I'm excited! :D The participation in this fest has been really enthusiastic, and I'm thrilled it's still going strong for a 4th year.
